All the tracks on this LP were created using 2 guitars I got for free. One from a giveaway pile of stuff on the street and the other hoicked out of a bin. I tuned my finds up nice (to my ear at least) and experimented playing them as percussion instruments with various beaters, my favourites being a thin pair of free takeaway chopsticks. By holding the sticks very loosely they fall onto the strings creating a bouncing effect which is only partially under my control. Its a way of playing that has a similar feel to something like automatic writing. Some tracks feature more intentional rhythms/melodies than others but generally I exerted minimal control over the sticks allowing gravity to play a significant role in this technique which I have decided to call Gravity Music. LOL.

Everything on this LP was recorded in one take into the voice recorder app on my phone which I placed inside the guitar for extra echo resonance/natural FX. I got a few text messages on vibrate mode when recording "Toward A Ponderous Control". I'm not sure who the messages were from but thanks for the contribution whoever it was :0)

The title "Sentient Strings" refers to natural forces out of my control having a significant influence on the music.

The next six track titles were chosen from randomly leafing through the book "More Than Human" by Theodore Sturgeon.

I'm not massively keen on playing live but gravity music is so much fun to make I'm definitely considering it!
